PELT ULTIMATE
PELT Ultimate is an Ultimate Frisbee club based in Limerick, Ireland formed in 2012. Â We have a Men's, Women's & Junior (<18) team that train in the University of Limerick and have over 50 active members. We strive for constant growth of all aspects of the club both on and off the pitch as well as promoting the sport to younger generations in the Limerick area.
OUR MEN'S SIDE OF THE CLUB
PELT Ultimate was founded in 2012 by members of UL's Ultimate Frisbee club as a way to continue training over the summer months. Since then, the club has gone from strength to strength. Our achievements include
Club Outdoor Nationals Champions 2016. Silver medalist 2015 & 2017
Club Indoor Nationals Champions 2018. Silver medalist 2015
The Siege of Limerick Champions 2016. Silver medalist 2015 & 2017.
Cork Open Champions 2016 & 2017
In 2017, we finished 3rd at Tour 3 (English tournament), UK Nationals and Windmill Windup (Amsterdam).
First Irish team to compete in the European Club Championships (Men's division) in Frankfurt in 2016 and repeated the feat in Venice in 2017 finishing 17th and 12th respectively.
PELT LADIES
PELT are consistently trying to recruit more women to play the sport and promote women's Ultimate both in Limerick and Ireland. Our goal is to improve our female to male ratio within the club and allow PELT Ladies to compete on all fronts throughout the year. In 2017, PELT Ladies & Tribe Ladies (Galway club) combined forces and created Bolt Ultimate (below) which competed in Women's Outdoor Nationals. This allowed for the women in both clubs to have consistent training's and improve the standard of women's Ultimate in both areas. In the future we hope for the women's side of the club to be able sustain it's numbers by itself with the help of the junior program.
PELT JUNIORS
PELT Juniors is a junior Ultimate Frisbee club here in Limerick. They had their first training in May 2017 after months of concentrated efforts in coaching schools around the Limerick area. We, as a club, are extremely proud of this bunch and excited to see them reach their full potential in the years to come.
Our goal as a club is
Introduce as many teenagers as possible to the sport.
To ensure the sustained enjoyment of the sport for everyone involved.
To successful coach them to a standard where can represent the senior men or women's team and future international teams.
